Riot Creative Imaging’s Green Plan is a nationwide program aimed at making the visual communication industry as sustainable and environmentally forward thinking as possible. As an industry leader, our intention is to set the standard by which all other companies in our industry will be judged.

We work to reduce consumption of resource-intensive goods. We also work with our vendors and suppliers to make sure our materials, equipment, and installation practices are the best environmentally.

Media recommendations

Ask for our recommendations on media that will have the least impact on the environment.

For example, cornstarch-based Eco-Board is made from recycled-content materials and is 100 percent biodegradable, making it environmentally superior to foam core or foam board.

Many of our printing materials come with environmental certifications, either for supporting the development of responsible forest management or for using recycled content from post-consumer waste. Some banner materials are 100 percent recyclable and last longer, meaning less material is consumed over time, thereby reducing the carbon footprint of your visual communication.

Eco-friendly latex ink technology

Latex inks are water-based and use an aqueous-dispersed polymer technology. These water-based formulations do not use toxic solvents, and they are nonflammable and contain no hazardous air pollutants — dramatically reducing the impact of printing on the environment. Another important benefit of latex inks is a less noxious environment for our print operators. Not only are latex inks environmentally superior to other options, but they also have great image quality and durability.

Recycling

Visual communication is a consumable-intensive business. As part of our commitment to environmental stewardship, Riot recycles as many materials as possible at the end of a project lifecycle.
